A lawmaker has claimed that NISA, Somali’s intelligence agency, blocked and prevented her from traveling to her constituency.
In a speech that she issued in Parliament, Dalyes Hassan Adan said the intelligence agency kept her at the airport from 7-11am before informing her that they could not allow her to travel.
The lawmaker said, “I was at the airport as early as 7.30 am but it wasn’t until 11.30 am that NISA told me I couldn’t leave the airport.”
The latest developments come hot on the heels of the reported military movements of the Ethiopian military in Gedo region. Reports indicate that Ethiopian soldiers have been intimidating and arresting public officers.
On Sunday, FNP, which is the country’s opposition coalition, demanded the withdrawal of Ethiopian troops who are working outside their AMISOM mandate.
