A Member of Parliament (MP) who was killed in Beledweyne on Thursday has been laid to rest.
The MP – Amina Mohamed – was buried in Mogadishu.
Her burial took place only a few hours after her body arrived in the nation’s capital on Thursday, March 24.
She was killed while in Beledweyne campaigning to retain her parliamentary seat.
Several top government officials attended her burial.
They included Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
Others who attended her burial were Hassan Sheikh and Sheikh Sharif, two former presidents of Somalia.
Ex-Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire was at the burial ceremony too.
