One person was killed in an IED attack in Somalia. During the attack, which took place at a tea shop in Jowhar, a regional Member of Parliament was among dozens of people injured too.
A top official of the HirShabelle administration was also injured during the explosion. The injured lawmaker was identified as Zakariya Mumin Hilowle.
A Deputy Chief of Staff was injured too.
Officials have said that all the injured individuals are currently admitted at a local hospital receiving treatment.
Jowhar Town, which is in Middle Shabelle, is around 90kms away from Mogadishu. Lately, Al-Shabaab has hit it with several attacks.
