Multiple deaths have been reported after Al-Shabaab terrorists raided one of the most popular hotels in Mogadishu.
Reports show that the terrorists raided Hayaat Hotel at the K-4 Junction in the nation’s capital.
The attack took place on the evening of Friday, August 19.
Preliminary reports are that more than 10 people might have lost their lives in the daring attack.
This is the first attack of this magnitude by Al-Shabaab in Mogadishu since President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud took power two months ago.
Later, the terrorists fled to the top floor of the hotel where they barricaded themselves.
They then engaged security officers in a shooting match for long periods.
