Elon Musk demands detention of Somali UN envoy over fraud claims

Elon Musk demanded the detention of Somalia’s envoy to the United Nations, Abukar Dahir Osman, following accusations of financial wrongdoing linked to the United States.

Musk issued the call on the social media platform X after a post claimed Osman had past links to a taxpayer-funded healthcare firm convicted of Medicaid fraud. The post further asserted that Osman had served in a supervisory role at a Medicaid agency.

“Arrest him,” Musk wrote in response to the allegations.

Abukar Dahir Osman recently took up the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council. Somalia sits as a non-permanent Council member.
