The names of Puntland Members of Parliament (MPs) who lost their parliamentary immunity have been released.
On Thursday, November 3, Puntland Regional Parliament voted to cancel the parliamentary immunity of eight MPs.
The eight MPs were accused of violating the House of Representatives’ Code of Conduct.
Abdijamal Osman Mohamed, Abdikani Abshir Surato, and Mohamoud Ahmed Alim are in the list of MPs who no longer enjoy parliamentary immunity.
Others include Abdirahman Dirie Arab, Muse Said Hassan, Abdirahman Mohamed Dhore, Abdiaziz Salad Ga’amay, and Suleiman Farah Ise.
Thirty-five MPs voted in favor of the motion, three rejected it, and one abstained.
