National Committee Supporting Fight against Terrorism Holds Inaugural Meeting in Mogadishu

The Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdusalam Abdi Ali, today presided over the inaugural meeting of the National Committee for Supporting the Fight Against Al-Shabaab and ISIS.

The meeting focused on bolstering support for the Somali National Army and community defense forces currently engaged in counterterrorism operations across the country. Participants also discussed ways to enhance public awareness of the dangers posed by extremist groups.

Deputy Prime Minister Abdusalam highlighted the critical role of national unity in the fight against terrorism, urging all Somalis to stand firmly behind the armed forces. He called on citizens to actively contribute to safeguarding the nation and defeating extremist threats.

“This is a war that demands unity and shared responsibility. Every Somali has a duty to protect our country and support the courageous heroes on the frontline,” he affirmed.
