National Exams for Secondary Schools in Somalia Kick off

National examinations for secondary school students in Somalia have kicked off.

The exams kicked off on Saturday.

Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama launched the exams jointly with Farah Sheikh Abdukhadir, who is the Minister of Education.

They launched the exercise in Mogadishu.

Over 34,000 students sat for their first papers across the country. Only students in Somaliland and Puntland aren’t sitting for the 2022/23 exams.

The education ministry established 114 centers for exams around the country.

Officers from Somali Police Force (SPF) are responsible for the security at the centers.
