Frans Makken, Netherlands Ambassador to Somalia, Kenya, and the Seychelles, has completed his tour of duty and is returning home.
Ambassador Makken has represented his country in the region for the last five years.
Netherlands Embassy in Nairobi has expressed its pleasure at Ambassador Makken for the “leadership” and “extraordinary service” offered during his term.
He hailed the improved bilateral relations between Netherlands and Kenya, Somalia, and the Seychelles too.
Makken listed his proud moments in office as the transitioning from aid to trade with the African nations.
He also expressed his immense pride at the innovative projects that the embassy started with support from the government of Netherlands.
Makken says that this was his last ambassadorial role. Henceforth, he would now be known as a retired diplomat.
