The Somaliland National Electoral Commission (NEC) has officially submitted the provisional results of the presidential and party elections to the Constitutional Supreme Court.
NEC submitted the results of elections held on November 13.
Waddani Party won most of the parliamentary seats while its flagbearer, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro, was victorious in the presidential polls.
This is a pivotal step in ensuring transparency, integrity, and adherence to the rule of law in Somaliland’s democratic process.
The move demonstrates a commitment to upholding electoral credibility and fostering public trust in the outcomes of the elections.
It also sets a standard for democratic practices in the region.
The Constitutional Supreme Court will now undertake the responsibility of reviewing and certifying the results.
