The newly appointed interim Special Representative of the African Union (AU) for Somalia, Rahmon Adebayo, arrived in Mogadishu on Thursday. He was welcomed at the airport by Abdikadir Burgal, Director of the Africa Department at Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a statement, the ministry reiterated the federal government’s commitment to “maintaining high standards of conduct and its zero-tolerance policy toward any actions that undermine mutual respect or the strategic priorities of Somalia.” The arrival marks a renewed effort to strengthen collaboration between Somalia and the AU in addressing regional challenges.
