The new Director-General in the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development has officially assumed his duties.
DG Mohamed Hassan Shire stepped into office on Thursday.
Mohamud Beenebeene, the planning minister, presided over the handing over ceremony at the ministry’s Mogadishu office.
He takes over from Asad Yusuf Qanyare.
Qanyare is now the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS).
Beenebeene wished Qanyare success in his new station.
