New Interior Minister Vows to Expedite Somalia’s Ongoing National ID Registration Campaign

Somalia’s new Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation has vowed to expedite the ongoing national ID registration campaign.

Interior minister Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh made this declaration when he held talks with officials of the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA).

A senior NIRA official – Director General Abdiweli Timacade – briefed the minister on the progress of the registration exercise.

Hosh commended NIRA for the efforts it has made in introducing digital IDs to all Somalis around the country.
