New Prime Minister Hosts Foreign Diplomats to a First Meeting

Mohamed Hussein Roble hosted his first meeting with foreign diplomats barely one day after parliament approved his appointment as Somalia’s new Prime Minister.

He hosted the foreign diplomats to a meeting at his office on Monday.

During the meeting, Roble and the diplomats discussed wide-ranging issues though the priorities were partnerships that help Somalia to achieve its development agenda.

They also spoke about preparations and all aspects of the upcoming elections in November 2020 and March 2021.

Representatives of the European Union, African Union, and United Nations to Somalia joined the diplomats in the meeting with Prime Minister Roble.

They all wished him “great success” in tackling the “daunting tasks and challenges” that are ahead.

Furthermore, the diplomats commended him for prioritizing elections, security, and fiscal reforms.
