President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is currently meeting with the regional state leaders in Mogadishu.
The meeting is taking place at Villa Somalia on Saturday, June 11.
The regional leaders attending the meeting include Puntland’s President Said Abdullahi Deni and Jubbaland’s President Ahmed Islam Madobe.
President Ali Gudlawe from HirShabelle is at the meeting too.
President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen and President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor of Southwest and Galmudug states are also in the discussions.
President Mohamud, fresh from his inauguration ceremony on June 9, is discussing a range of issues with the regional state leaders.
Top on their agenda is security around the country. They are also discussing the ongoing drought in the country.
There are fears that the drought could give way to a devastating famine.
