The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) has announced plans to roll out new national ID registration in Benadir.
This follows a recent meeting between Abdiweli Abdulle Timacade and Yusuf Hussein Jimaale.
Timacade is a NIRA Director-General while Jimaale is not only the Mayor of Mogadishu but also the Governor of the Benadir Regional Administration (BRA).
All Benadir district commissioners attended the meeting too.
Recently, NIRA launched a rollout of new national IDs. Somalis around the country can now look forward to digital national IDs.
