Mogadishu – Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in collaboration with international security allies, executed a targeted operation against a key location in the Middle Jubba region. The mission centered on a safe house in Bu’aale district, where senior Kharijite commanders were believed to have convened for strategic discussions.
According to initial assessments, this intelligence-driven operation aimed to eliminate the leadership hierarchy of the extremist organization. The attack targeted a compound used by militants for important gatherings, representing a significant breakthrough in territory previously controlled by the group. Security authorities described the action as a major and impactful strike meant to undermine the insurgents’ command structure.
Although exact information about the identities of the targeted leaders and casualty figures is still being confirmed, the Federal Government has indicated that the strike’s effects are considerable. This operation demonstrates the expanded efforts by Somali security forces to track down militants in their most concealed locations, guaranteeing that no area is beyond the reach of law enforcement. Additional information about the results of this operation will be shared by officials in the near future.
