On Thursday, Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) announced the capture of two individuals in Mogadishu linked to the militant group Al-Shabaab.
Among those arrested is Sakariye, the son of Said Abdullahi Sulsul, a prominent Al-Shabaab commander.
The second detainee, Abdullahi Ahmed Hassan, is a Somali soldier accused of betraying his country by aiding Al-Shabaab fighters.
This operation, which was on Thursday, highlights NISA’s ongoing efforts to curb Al-Shabaab’s influence within Somalia and neutralize threats posed by individuals collaborating with the militant group.
