The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) of Somalia has permanently suspended over 12,000 websites and social media accounts linked to Al-Shabaab.
These platforms were being used to disseminate propaganda and promote violent extremist ideology.
The move is part of Somalia’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and disrupt the group’s digital networks, which are critical for their recruitment and influence campaigns.
This action underscores the government’s commitment to countering the group’s messaging and reducing their ability to exploit online platforms for harmful purposes.
