MOGADISHU — The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has announced the successful conclusion of a planned security operation in the Maxaa Saciid area of the Middle Shabelle region.
The raid targeted a safe house where senior leaders of the Al-Shabaab militant group were reportedly convening. Official reports confirm that the operation resulted in the deaths of 13 militants, including five high-ranking commanders.
Disrupting Terror Networks
According to intelligence briefings, the targeted leaders were meeting to coordinate future attacks and devise methods to coerce local residents into providing forced support. NISA stated that the operation successfully neutralized the cell, dismantling their ongoing activities in the area.
The commanders neutralized in the raid were identified as key figures responsible for coordinating operations across the Middle Shabelle, Galgaduud, and Bay regions.

In addition to the fatalities, eight other militants were seriously wounded during the engagement. Among the injured were three identified commanders:

Following the operation, NISA issued a strong advisory urging civilians to maintain distance from areas where Al-Shabaab militants are known to be present, emphasizing that such locations remain legitimate targets for national security forces.
