National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) released a radio journalist that it detained four days ago without preferring any charges against him.
On Thursday, Abdullahi Kulmiye, a journalist with Radio Kulmiye, was set free after spending the last four days at Godka Jila’aw Prison in Mogadishu.
Apparently, NISA detained him there after an interview he carried out with a prominent businessman who is sympathetic to Al-Shabaab.
According to reliable sources, Kulmiye was set free after his radio station agreed not to air the interview with the pro-Al-Shabaab businessman.
Several media rights organizations had spoken out against Kulmiye’s arrest urging authorities in Somalia to set him free immediately and unconditionally.
