No casualties were reported despite an African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) helicopter crashed in Lower Shabelle on February 5.
AMISOM confirmed that one of its choppers crashed in Balidoogle Airport, Lower Shabelle on Friday.
The organization confirmed that the plane crashed shortly after takeoff.
The four soldiers who were onboard the plane at the time of the incident were rescued without suffering serious injuries.
According to AMISOM, the soldiers are now in stable condition.
Meanwhile, investigations into the incident are already underway.
Nevertheless, preliminary reports indicate that the helicopter developed technical glitches before crashing.
The helicopter belonged to AMISOM’s Ugandan contingent.
