The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has confirmed that there won’t be changes to visa requirements for Somalis traveling on international airlines.
The government announced this through the Immigration and Naturalization Directorate (IND) of Somalia.
On Sunday, the directorate said that the announcement was necessary because of recent reports and rumors on social media.
International airlines were advised to remove any restrictions placed on Somalis traveling from either Europe or the United States.
The organization added that the airlines should allow Somalis to board without placing any visa restrictions as visas would be issued upon arrival in Somalia.
