No Deportation for Somali Man Convicted of Raping Two Young Swedish Girls

A 39-year old Somali man who was convicted of raping two young Swedish girls would not face deportation.

According to authorities, the man became a Swedish citizen in 2015 thus making him ineligible for deportation.

Instead, they announced that he would be facing any punishment that the courts deem suitable for his crimes in Sweden.

The man, who has only been identified as Ahmed M., was found guilty of raping a 9-year old girl on April 15, 2020 as she walked home from school.

For this crime, a district court found him guilty and sentenced him to 11 years imprisonment.

Ahmed is also expected to pay €23,400 as compensation to the 9-year old girl, whose family he also threatened to kill in case she spoke about the rape.

Ahmed committed this crime after his recent release from prison for raping a 12-year old girl in 2017. He had served only one year of the sentence handed out for this crime.
