Nordic Ambassadors Discuss Priority Areas with Somalia Prime Minister

Several Nordic Ambassadors met with and discussed priority areas with the Prime Minister of Somalia on October 7.

During the Wednesday meeting, diplomats from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland held a productive session with Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.

The meeting was the first between the Nordic diplomats and Roble since the Federal Parliament approved him as Somalia’s newest Prime Minister.

Mahdi M. Gulaid also attended the closed-door discussions held at the Prime Minister’s officer as Somalia’s Acting Deputy Prime Minister.

The diplomats presented their current areas of priority to the Prime Minister.

These include the upcoming parliamentary and president elections as well as the dialogue between Federal Government of Somalia and Federal Member States.

Others included the constitutional review process, peace building and reconciliation, and human rights.
