Several parts of northern Somalia might receive 10-100mm of rainfall this week.
Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) announced the expected levels of rainfall in various parts of the country on Sunday.
In its October 23 announcement, SODMA named the specific northern Somalia areas that could benefit from good rainfall this week.
Such areas include Mudug, Sool, Nugaal, Togdheer, Galgudud, and west Hiiraan.
Other parts of the country are likely to receive 1-30mm of rainfall this week. These areas include Middle Jubba, Gedo, Awdal, and Banadir.
Therefore, the agency has advised Somalis in these areas to be extra vigilant.
The agency’s announcement comes hot on the heels of the increased rainfalls in the East African nation over the last few days.
