The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) has called for the immediate and unconditional release of a journalist working for Kaab Somali TV.
On Friday, NUSOJ issued a statement condemning the arbitrary arrest of journalist Mohamed Ibrahim Bulbul.
Authorities arrested Bulbul on August 17.
Bulbul’s “crime” was to investigate and report a story that painted the police in bad light.
As the Editor in Chief of Kaab, an online TV station, Bulbul then published the story that appeared to impute corruption on the part of the police.
