The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) has expressed gratitude to Australia for supporting media development in the East African nation.
Omar Faruk Osman, the Secretary-General of NUSOJ, extended the appreciation to Australia on Tuesday.
He spoke during his meeting with Tim Watts in the region.
Watts, the Australian Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, is currently on an official visit to the Horn of Africa nation.
Osman briefed Watts on the state of media freedom in Somalia.
Luke Williams, the Australian High Commissioner to Kenya, had invited the NUSOJ Secretary-General to the function where he met Watts.
