NUSOJ Trains 30 Beledweyne Journalists to Report SGBV

The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) held training for 30 journalists in Beledweyne to report sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) properly.

NUSOJ launched the training on Wednesday, November 11.

The organization conducted the training in conjunction with the Ministry of Women and Human Rights Development.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) also contributed to make the training successful.

NUSOJ has been carrying out similar trainings in other parts of the country.

According to the organization, SGBV is a serious issue in the East African nation. It believes that all stakeholders have to play a role to reduce SGBV cases.

The 30 journalists being trained are all from HirShabelle.
