National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) conducted training to educate journalists how to cover elections “professionally and safely.”
NUSOJ carried out the training jointly with Reporters Sans Frontieres (RSF).
During the training, NUSOJ and RSF educated the journalists on the importance of reporting elections news professionally.
NUSOJ stated that journalists have to be able to work in a safe environment while covering elections around the country.
Somalia is scheduled to hold elections on November 2020.
Presidential polls would then follow on February 2021.
NUSOJ reminded journalists that their reportage could determine the direction the country takes post-elections.
