With the World Humanitarian Day a few days away, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has called for the protection of humanitarian workers in Somalia.
OCHA issued a statement ahead if the World Humanitarian Day which is celebrated globally on August 19th.
In its statement, the agency said that the global day is a moment to reflect on the immense challenges faced by civilians in conflict zones, including Somalia.
It called for unity in the protection of innocent lives and those who work tirelessly to deliver aid.
The ongoing violence and attacks on civilians must end, and those responsible should be held accountable, as per the OCHA statement.
It urged for increased advocacy for a safer and more humane world.
