Officer Injured as Police Clash with Drug Addicts in Garowe

An officer is currently fighting for his life after police and drug addicts clashed in Garowe on Saturday.

Reports from the region indicate that the armed drug addicts fought with the officers at a Garowe police station on Saturday night.

Apparently, the addicts took a man they had tortured to the police station.

They told the officers that the man had been driving a car that collided with theirs.

However, a misunderstanding arose between them and the officers which led to clashes. They then opened fire thus injuring an officer.

Mohamud Bile Fardaful, the Deputy Commander of Nugaal Regional Police Command, confirmed these details to the press.

Fardaful accused Col. Jimale Takar, a former commander of the Danab Force, of being in charge of the addicts.
