One person was reportedly killed in a hand grenade attack in Puntland on January 22.
According to witnesses, unknown person hurled the grenade at a group of military personnel conducting a security patrol in Galkayo.
The Friday attack took place at a location lying north of Galkayo, which is the administrative capital of Puntland.
Apart from the one person reported dead, three others were injured in the aftermath of the deadly attack.
Two Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers were among the injured.
The night attack is the latest in a series by extremists in the East African nation. The extremists seem to have increased their attacks in the region over the last three months.
