Abdi Tahlil Warsame, one of the most iconic singers in Somalia, is dead.
The highly talented musician has been a favorite of many Somalis in and out of the country for decades.
His family confirmed his death, which occurred after a short illness.
Warsame had been a member of the popular Waaberi group, which he joined in 1972 after winning a music contest held at the National Theater.
His remains are likely to be interred today in line with his faith and the customs of his people.
