One person was killed during the ongoing heavy rains in Puntland and Galmudug, local authorities announced.
According to the authorities, the person died when heavy rains fell in the Mudug region on Sunday, October 25.
The deceased was in a house that the rains demolished over the weekend.
An announcement by IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Center (ICPAC) Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) said that more rains are expected.
Furthermore, ICPAC announced that the northern parts of the country are the most susceptible to the fresh rains.
Consequently, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has called for humanitarian assistance for the victims.
The organization stated that the locals need food assistance, health and sanitation services.
