One government soldier lost his life when Somali National Army (SNA) repelled a planned attack by Al-Shabaab militants.
According to SNA sources, the terrorists had launched an attack in Daynuney on June 25.
Daynuney is roughly 25kms from Baidoa, which is the administrative capital of the regional state of Southwest.
A fierce encounter then ensued.
One soldier lost his life while an unknown number escaped with different types of injuries.
It’s not clear whether any Al-Shabaab militant lost his life in the Sunday deadly clashes that left residents fearing for their lives.
