The ongoing drought in Somalia continues to hit 66 districts around the country hard.
On Wednesday, the National Drought Committee (NDC) released a statement apprising Somalis of the situation.
In its report, which is dated May 25, the committee asserts that 6.9 million people around the country grapple with an acute shortage of food and water.
As per the NDC report, over 8 million people could be affected soon.
Currently, Somalia has a population of around 16 million people.
