Security forces continue to carry out an operation to eradicate Al-Shabaab terrorists from a hotel in Mogadishu.
Al-Shabaab terrorists attacked Hayat Hotel in the nation’s capital on Friday evening.
The August 19 attack was the first of its magnitude by the Al-Shabaab militia since President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud won presidential elections two months ago.
Security forces rushed to the scene a few moments after the attack commenced.
As at Saturday morning, they were still at the hotel engaged in a fierce shootout with the terrorists.
Thus far, the security officers have rescued people who were initially trapped in the hotel.
Police are yet to provide full details of the casualties.
