Opposition politicians in Somalia have commended Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble for sacking seven members of the Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee.
Meeting under the Council of Presidential Candidates (CPC), the politicians hailed Roble for sacking the seven members.
Prime Minister Roble accused the seven members of lacking independence while performing their roles.
He also cited them for abuse of power.
Roble sacked the dispute resolution members on December 18.
Later in the day, the CPC members said that the sacking would ensure the electoral transparency needed in the ongoing House of the People (Lower House) elections.
They commended Roble for a move that would prevent violation of the rights of citizens.
