Opposition Politicians in Somaliland Urged to Honor the Constitution

Opposition politicians in Somaliland have been urged to respect the constitution.

Mohamed Kaahin Ahmed, the Somaliland Minister of Interior, called upon opposition leaders to respect and honor the constitution instead of calling for chaos.

Kaahin spoke on May 17 while addressing the media in his office.

In his view, opposition politicians are “part and parcel” of the Somaliland government.

He was speaking in view of the recent comments by Abdirahman Irro, the leader of the opposition Wadani Party, to the country’s youth.

Irro had requested the youths to take part in civil disobedience.

Kaahin urged Irro and other opposition leaders to remember the long and torturous road the country underwent to regain its independence from Somalia.
