Traders and ordinary citizens in Somalia and Kenya have urged their respective governments to solve the diplomatic spat between their nations.
Several Kenyans are stationed in Somalia where they work or run different types of businesses.
When they traveled to Kenya over the December holidays, they were afraid that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) would not allow them back into the country.
Consequently, they now urge the government of President Uhuru Kenyatta to speak with President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, his Somali counterpart.
In Somalia, several residents are also of the view that their government was too hasty to cut off all diplomatic ties with Kenya.
Incredibly, residents of the two nations blame their governments for the breakdown in relations.
