Omar Faruk Osman attended the two-day meeting of trade union leaders in Asmara.
Osman is the Secretary-General of the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ).
However, he traveled to Asmara in his capacity as the Secretary-General of the Federation of Somali Trade Unions (FESTU).
The trilateral meeting attracted trade union leaders from Somalia, Eritrea, and Ethiopia.
It ran from April 8-9.
Osman confirmed that the trade union leaders discussed wide-ranging issues that included multifarious challenges facing working people in the three neighboring nations.
The leaders resolved to take decisive steps on a few issues.
These included peace, a decent working environment, solidarity, and climate justice.
