Outgoing Commander of AMISOM’s Burundian Contingent Highlights Achievements

The outgoing commander of the Burundian contingent of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has highlighted his achievements.

Brigadier General Telesphore Barandereka leaves his post at the completion of his one-year tour of duty.

He listed the successful operation against Al-Shabaab as one of the highlights of his tenure.

Brig. Gen. Barandereka has been commanding the Burundian contingent in Jowhar.

The Burundian contingent is part of the AMISOM Sector 5 unit that operates in the region.

Some highly populated regions they operate in and secure include Balcad, Jowhar, Adale, and Mahaday.
