Ambassador Ahmed Isse Awad has said that he is not available for any new appointment from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Ambassador Awad has just been relieved of his duties as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
While accepting his sacking, Ambassador Awad expressed gratitude to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo for appointing him the foreign affairs minister on November 4, 2018.
He served as the foreign affairs minister under the immediate former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire.
Awad retained his position recently when the new Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble announced a new cabinet.
He has served as Roble’s foreign affairs minister for a month since the reappointment a month ago.
On Thursday, Roble replaced him with Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud.
Ambassador Awad took the news of his sack well by thanking President Farmaajo.
However, he released a press statement asking the government not to consider him for a position as an ambassador or any other public office.
