Somalis are outraged by President Emmanuel Macron’s recent remarks on Islam.
On Wednesday, reports from around the country indicate that Somalis are being urged to hold rallies in protest against Macron’s remarks.
Already, thousands held demonstrations on the streets of Mogadishu to condemn Macron.
Furthermore, the protestors are also urging the rest of the country to join hands in boycotting goods from France.
Recently, President Macron called French Muslims “separatists.”
He also vowed to support the work of French cartoonists, who have been condemned for their caricatures of Prophet Muhammad.
Often, the cartoonists mock Prophet Muhammad.
Muslims around the world have taken great exception to that, especially when Macron mourned the death of a teacher killed for showing his students some of these caricatures.
