More than 100 Al-Shabaab militants were killed in operations undertaken in central Somalia.
A military officer confirmed this to the media on condition of anonymity.
The officer added that Somali National Armed Forces killed 120 terrorists in Galmudug.
He spoke to the media on Tuesday.
The army undertook 17 counterterrorism operations in the region on Monday and Tuesday.
Nevertheless, it is not clear whether the military also suffered any casualties.
