Over 300 Somalis Stranded in Ukraine Released

More than 300 Somalis who have been stranded in Ukraine are now free to return home after authorities released them.

According to Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the 348 Somalis are now free to return to their country from the war-ravaged Ukraine.

Hundreds of Somalis are stranded in Ukraine, which is currently fighting with Russia.

As per Somalia’s foreign affairs ministry, 65 Somali students who were initially in Ukraine and Russia have now joined higher education institutions in Hungary.

The ministry also urged other Somali students who are currently studying in Ukraine to visit its website for a form that they must fill.

This notice is for those students who wish to proceed with their education outside Ukraine.
