Over 37,000 Households Living in IDP Camps in Kismayo

More than 37,000 households are currently living in camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kismayo.

According to WASH Cluster Somalia, the humanitarian situation in the camps is quickly getting out of hand.

As per the WASH report dated July 13, the 37,000 households are in four major camps in the Jubbaland capital.

Sadly, only 3,400 people in the four camps have access to emergency water trucking services.

Jubbaland’s Ministry of Energy and Water Resources has been providing water trucking services in the four IDP camps.

Consequently, WASH has appealed for more assistance from well-wishers and stakeholders.
