Over 6.5 Million Somalis Received Humanitarian Assistance from Jan-Sept

More than 6.5 million Somalis received humanitarian assistance from January-September 2022.

This week, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) published a report on this matter.

In the report, OCHA said that humanitarians have supported 6.5 million out of 7.6 million initially targeted at the beginning of the year.

Most of the needy people are in dire situations owing to the effects of the ongoing drought.

The figure represents 86 percent of the people targeted with humanitarian response.

Furthermore, OCHA reported that the assistance covered 74 districts in the East African country through a partnership with 319 organizations.
