The United Nations has called for urgent humanitarian assistance in Somalia.
On Friday, the UN published a report showing that over 6.9 million people in the country would face dire humanitarian situation in the country in 2024.
The report was by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
As per the report, Somalia faced the most damaging period between October and November last year.
The El Nino rains caused floods that left millions of people displaced.
This took place after the country had experienced failed rains for five consecutive seasons thus causing a severe and devastating drought.
